Channel 3 ABC - Corpus Christi, Texas

Community Options, Inc. of Corpus Christi, Texas opened their operation in February 2009. On July 11, 2009, they had a ribbon cutting ceremony to open their first group home in the area moving two residents from the Corpus Christi State School into their own home.

You may have heard about the horrific human fight clubs that took place at the Corpus Christi State School; an institution that warehouses people with disabilities. Employees, for their own entertainment, organized a fight club between the people that resided there. Those employees have since been brought up on numerous criminal charges.

Community Options plans on opening many other homes in the Corpus Christi area moving even more people with disabilities out of the Corpus Christi State School and into their own homes.
